CityTennis Levels

 

Beginner I

Beginner I is for complete beginners who have never taken formal lessons before. Typically referred to as level 2.5. Also for players who played high school tennis or maybe had a FEW lessons a long time ago. This class focuses mostly on drills, technique, ball control and introduction to games at the end. Be sure to let us know if you need a racket.


Beginner II

For students level 3.0-3.5 NTRP, or UTR 2.0-4.0 Men and 2.5-4.0 Women. Beginner II is for advanced beginners who are actively playing 1-2 times per week OR taking lessons for the past 3-6 months, but on a very infrequent basis. This class focuses mostly on drills, stroke production and liveball games.


Intermediate I

For students level 3.5-4.0 NTRP, or UTR 2.5 Men and 2.5-7.0 Women. Intermediate I is for students who can rally, change the direction of the ball and have been actively playing regularly for 2.3 years without delay. These students have maybe played in a league already and currently play regularly 2-3 times per week.


Intermediate II

For students level 4.0-4.5 NTRP, or UTR 3.5-6.5 Men and 4.5-8.5 Women. Intermediate II is for students who have learned how to vary the level of spin on the ball. These players practice 3-5 times per week, have experience playing tournaments or leagues and have been actively playing regularly for 5-10 years without delay. These players have taken many private lessons.
